Fit for Eternity
July 22, 2017
Crossing Over— The Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church Fit for Eternity Walk/Run is a new twist on an old tradition. In 2006, Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller, decided to update the old Baptist tradition of having a church congregation walk from the site of its old church building to the site of the new building. To honor the symbolism of the church’s expansion to its new place of worship, an annual Walk/Run was started with proceeds going to local charitable organizations. In keeping with Enon’s commitment to benefit those in our community, the Fit for Eternity Walk/Run is an annual event commemorating our “crossing over” into a new facility and season of ministry, but also focusing on health/mental health issues that are important but don’t receive the publicity and awareness that they should.
Thank you to all who participated last year in our 11th Annual Fit for Eternity Walk/Run! It was a HOT HUMID day for competition and our witness to the community for the cause of Christ was tremendous. Because of your donations and sacrifice we were able to donate $7,000 to The Center for Grieving Children and $7,000 to Northwest Community Services, two local agencies which support children, teens and victims in our community.
